Choose the right plants in the garden to save water

Despite of rainy winters, the water preservation is too less to fulfill the need of mankind. During the summer months the water scarcity rises too much. That is when the reservoirs are lowest and demand for irrigation water is highest. Choosing drought-tolerant plants, building rich soil, watering wisely and following the other key steps will help to solve the problem. Save money on water bills. How to use water properly in the garden?

For sandy soils, drought-tolerant plants like Cistus are perfect. Provide shelter. Plant shade and moisture loving plants away from the wind and hot sun. by putting walls, fences, hedges or other plants they won't dry out so quickly. Use bigger pots with more compost to cool the soil and conserve moisture. Kill weeds as they compete with plants for moisture.
