Windows and doors need to be regularly inspected and if recaulking of siding joints is necessary for utility penetrations, it may also be a good time for weather-stripping around doors and windows so they seal tightly to prevent water from entering.

For proper ventilation, it is a good idea to install timers on bathroom and laundry fans and run them for 20 minutes after showers. Bath, kitchen and laundry fan ducts need vent outside with dryers to the outside of the home. More serious moisture damage or standing water in either the crawlspace or basement may call for professional help and a certified contractor to repair, correct any structural problems and eliminate the source of the moisture may be the best solution.
