Choosing Greenhouse Windows

When you are building a greenhouse, there are several different kinds of greenhouse windows you can buy. Vinyl windows for the greenhouse make an excellent choice because they have all rounded corners and frame. They suit any style of architecture. The vinyl sash and frame are welded and contain extruded aluminum supports, which gives the windows extra strength. The glass is insulated so that it reduces the transmission of heat that you want to stay inside the greenhouse. Although you install this type of window in the same fashion as you would an aluminum window, it does perform just like the vinyl window in any room of your home.

The aluminum windows for greenhouses also have rounded corners and frame. They offer a clear view with no bars or obstructions. The tempered glass in these windows is fully adjustable and will suit a variety of sizes of plants that you want the sun to shine on. The glass is also treated so that it repels extreme heat and the ultraviolet rays. Since the aluminum windows have a rugged welded frame, they are virtually indestructible and so will carry a much higher weight.

If you have different size windows in your greenhouse, you can also have the windows custom made. Vinyl windows are available in any size ranging from 2 feet X 2 feet all the way up to 6 feet X 5 feet. You can choose from white and almond as the standard colors for vinyl windows, but with special orders you can choose from a color chart.

Installing windows in a greenhouse is a little different than installing them in your home. This is because of the many windows you need. The roof is basically made of glass as are the sides of the greenhouse.
