Something Interesting About Bamboo Fountains
Bamboo fountain is a wonderful way to add a Japanese touch while creating a Japanese garden- Japanese tea or Zen garden. It is a fantastic idea to add a culture and provide the soothing sounds of falling water. There are no set rules for the placement of the basin fountain in the Japanese garden and there are many ways to set them up. The bamboo fountains are known as "kakei" in Japanese .

Popular Bamboo Fountains

1. Bamboo basin Fountain- "Kakei" - Kakei have been used in the Japanese gardens for centuries to provide flowing water into basins. This is the most traditional bamboo fountain and is a T-bar style fountain made of natural bamboo. The spout of the bamboo fountain can be left long or cut down to the preferred length. Both long and short spout bamboo fountains are very prominent in the Japanese garden.

2. Bamboo Fountains - Deer Chaser - The deer chaser or the shishi-odoshi was originally used to scare off deer from crops . Later on these were used in the garden as their movement provided an element of change. The deer chase fountains are eye catching Japanese fountains that provide a serene rhythmic sound of water. The water from the bamboo fountain flows into the knocking portion. The knocking fills and spills the water creating arrhythmic knocking sound as it hits a rock. The deer chaser should be placed at the edge of a pond, water garden. You can also place a carved basin under it. The deer chaser fountains are handcrafted out of natural bamboo. They are 1.5 inch to 2 inch in diameter. The 32 inch tall spout has a traditional 3 inch diameter cross bar for an authentic traditional Japanese appeal. Also includes 8' of high quality non-kinking tubing.
