Fireplace fans - warms the room

Fireplace or wood stove is installed to heat the room during winter. However, the fireplace installed in a room can heat only that room and not the entire house. The only solution to heat the entire house is by installing fireplace fans. These fans can be installed in the fireplaces or wood stoves. The fans circulate warm air throughout in all the rooms in the house. The fireplace fans increase the hot air blowing out of the fireplace and the small blower fans can be placed in the doorways to move heat to another room. The duct fans can be installed in the furnace duct which moves the air into remote areas of the home. Fireplace fan does not heat; it assists in the circulation of fireplace heat in the room. A fan installed in a fireplace usually increases the efficiency of a fireplace 5 to 10%.

Is it possible to fit a fan to already installed fireplace?

Fireplaces of natural gas or electric fireplaces have an option for a fan kit. The fan can be easily installed provided electricity was provided to the fireplace junction box when the fireplace was installed.

Advantage of fireplace fans

The exhaust -fan interacts with the gas-burning fireplace to allow constant flow of gas to produce heat into room air. The fans of the fireplace will reduce the heating costs. The fans are designed in such a way that it allows maximum airflow with minimum noise. The lunging of warm air into the room prevents overheating of the under surface of the mantle. The fans are simple to install and can be removed when not in use. These fans are very inexpensive to operate. The fireplace fans can be run during power outages to provide additional emergency heat when required.

Certain things one need to know

The fireplace must have some space between the bottom and the lower edge of the frame and must have an electrical receptacle under the firebox to plug the power adapter for powering the fans. The fan system consumes less than four watts of electrical power. The fans with variable speeds are available as every fireplace and room has different heating and acoustic properties. The fireplace fans are easy to install and fans that make minimum noise are available.
