You can choose amongst a variety of compost bins depending on your needs. One of the most widely used compost bins are discussed below.

Big Round Compost Bin though looks very simple is highly effective. It can hold 18 cubic feet of materials, which is about 50% higher than most other bins. You can throw anything from leaves, grass clippings to food scraps and of everything you can think of! The bin will break down the organic material in to rich compost faster than you can imagine.

Structure

The wall of a big round compost bin is about 1/10" in thickness and 30" in height with a width of 36". A 100 percent-consume HDPE plastic is used to make the bin, which contains ultra -violet inhibitors that prevent fading. The bin has a wide mouth for easy mixing and aeration and is covered with a three-foot wide thermoformed lid to protect the contents from animals and excess rain.

Working

The bin can be divided in two sections, wherein the 135 square inches bottom half is taken by air while the upper body retains the heat. The bin has a gate at the bottom that allows easy access to the richer compost that is found at the base of the pile. There are special intake slits at the base, which draw up air through the pile, aiding decomposition.
A complete set of Big Round Compost Bin will cost you around $ 99.95, which, includes 4 stainless steel carriage bolts and wing nuts, three holding pegs, bottom access gate handle, assembly instructions and a guide to Backyard Composting Booklet.

Compost bins are also available in tumbler models, which can hold upto 71 gallons of materials. These bins will cost you from $150 to $190 depending on the capacity of the bin. Most bins are easy to operate and shift.
