Beehive Compost Bins

The Beehive Compost Bin is an attractive alternative to oversized eyesore plastic bins and to an untidy and unwieldy compost heap. The Beehive Compost Bin is so called because it actually resembles a real hive with bees. Based on the famous Edwardian design by The Reverend William Broughton Carr, the beehive compost bin is extremely functional while adding a charming feature to the average garden. Overall it is an attractive composter which combines an imaginative natural design with practicality and style.

Composition:
The Beehive compost bin is made from treated timber from conservation and managed forests. This timber has been pressure-treated with timber preservatives to prevent rot and insect damage. It stacks in four individual sections which allow air circulation and has an opening section in the base for easy removal of prepared compost. The Beehive Compost Bin measure 26" by 26" with a height of over 36" and has an internal capacity of around 260 litres. The gabled roof hinges right back for loading and leaves both your hands free for loading. Usually it has a removable panel at the bottom to access the lower layers of prepared compost. Alternatively, its individual sections can be lifted off to get at the compost. It comes ready assembled for use.

Advantages:
1. It is ideal for the average garden because not every garden is large enough to accommodate a compost heap. Where space is at a premium, the beehive compost bin is a perfect appendage to convert kitchen and garden waste into invaluable compost.
2. Furthermore, the beehive compost bin is all-purpose, and may be used for storing garden tools, to hide an unsightly waste bin or as a log shelter.
3. By being sited on bare earth, the beehive compost bin also allows worms and other microorganisms to enter from the ground and speed up microbial activity in the compost.
4. The beehive compost bin looks so good you can give it pride of place in your garden; it can be sited anywhere in your garden.

The traditional beehive compost bin makes a good investment for long-term usage as compost creator. This home-made compost is one of the best fertilizers for your garden and it is free with the beehive compost bin which allows the waste to break down faster. So recycle, reduce and reuse your household and garden waste with the beehive compost bin.
