Hermle clocks:

Have you ever wondered about the history of clocks and timepieces? What most of us know is that in the yester years you had to wind the clock with a key and now the put one or two batteries to operate the clock. Heard of Hermle clocks? They are the world's leading maker of wall and mantel chiming clocks. They are also famous for their grandfather and cuckoo clocks too. Hermle is based in Germany and was founded by Franz Hermle in the early 20th century. They also made windup chiming for other companies and they were thought to be the most modern manufactures of clock during that time. Their dedication saw them through the tough time period of world war and they prospered well. They still continue to be the world leaders in the clock manufacturing.

Some Hermle clocks

1. Grandfather clocks
They were famous for their grandfather clocks. These come in varieties like triple chime clocks, storage clocks or basic grandfather clocks. The casing is wooden made from the cherry, mahogany, walnut and oak wood They are intricately carved and have brass trimmings and an eight-day triple chime movement, cable-driven with automatic night shut-off and moon phase. The melodies are mostly Westminster, Whittington, and St Michael. Triple chime and traditional grandfather clocks are famous even today. The contemporary clocks are very much different from traditional ones as they are in white. They are basically floor clocks that can be used as shelf too. They come with four time zones ticking away or with chrome pendulum oscillating and chiming mechanism is quartz.
2. Hermle cuckoo clocks
Cuckoo clocks are everybody's dream. They are considered to be heirloom timepieces like the grandfather and mantle clocks. This clock runs by gravitational pull of weights that hang on long chains. They come in different models and cased in wood of oak, cherry, mahogany and walnut.
3. Tellurium series
Tellurium clock shows the annual orbit of the earth around the sun with the earth rotating on its own axis. They also reproduce the moon phases and the zodiac signs.

Hermle is famous for their mantle and table timepieces. Today they are world players and they are different from their counterparts as they provide two year warranty and also for their exception and melodies chimes. They are famous not only for their grandfather and cuckoo clocks but also for their latest series of tellurium clocks. This organisation is taken care of by the third generation and has made its presence know to more than 80 countries with their combination of tradition and contemporary designs and styles. Today Hermle clocks are available in quartz as well as in mechanical movements.
