Basement bathroom - a unique way of using your basement

Now days everyone in interested in building a customized house. Having a basement bathroom is constantly being the hot issue of discussion. The main reason for this is that on one hand constructing a basement bathroom is expensive and on the other hand it could be tedious and time consuming. In order to ventilate the air in the bathroom, a basement bathroom also includes a bathroom fan. A basement bathroom also requires a bathroom heater. This facilitates warm water for bathing. The plumbing of this bathroom is generally done in copper. Along with this the bathroom needs a GFI electrical outlet. Along with all this a basement bathroom needs to be equipped with a shower curtain rod, a soap dish and a towel hook. For safety purposes the bathroom may also contain a medicine cabinet, which should be very handy, incase of emergency.

Constructing a bathroom in the basement is a good solution to utilize the empty space at home. Moreover, it proves to be very helpful in case of guests. It provides an extra bath, shower and powder room for family members and guests. Also basement bathrooms can be easily installed and do not require a lot of equipment of it. Thus it can fit into small spaces and is easy to maintain. Moreover, basement bathrooms also help in increasing the value of the house.

Things to remember

A basement does not have a window. Hence while constructing a bathroom in the basement it is very important to pay special attention to the lighting of the bathroom. In order to do so it is recommended to fit light bulb strips above the mirror and add spotlights throughout the area. Another way of making your basement bathroom look big is to use good mirrors. In order to make your basement bathroom well equipped fitting bathroom cabinets and storage units is a good idea.
